Meet our Founders

Matthew Farrow
Matthew left school at 16 to join his father in the family’s carpentry and joinery business, with the retirement of his father and 19 years experience across a wide spectrum of the construction industry under his belt Matthew felt his passion was in timber framing. Joining experience, knowledge and contacts with Nick lead to the creation of Farrow & Dale.
Outside of work hours Matthew enjoys coastal and country walks, exploring the UKs canals, maintaining his garden and all important downtime with his family.

Nick Dale
Nick grew up on his dad’s small family farm in the North Yorkshire Moors where from a young age he learnt valuable practical skills. He went straight from school into an apprenticeship, working for a reputable local joinery firm where he worked and gained experience for over 10 years. This is where his love of oak framing started. Nick left in 2013 to go self employed, throughout this time he continued to enjoy a large variety of carpentry and joinery until deciding to follow his passion for bespoke Oak framing, which led to joining forces with Matthew to form Farrow and Dale Oak Frames.
In his spare time Nick enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his family and friends.
